Milfontes Rota Vicentina Hub

Milfontes Rota Vicentina Hub has developed naturally because of its location. Many on their journey call in here on their way to the ferry across the Rio Mira. We offer a place to meet other walkers and to share your experiences in a convivial environment. We offer back up and support to you on your journey and importantly wifi to keep in touch with those at home.

It is located in Vila Nova de Milfontes, a small village located on the Alentejo Coast halfway between Lisbon and Faro.

The Alentejo Coast provides a rich natural environment for field studies and extended expeditions. Please ask for details of our group rates.

It is a good idea to try out your equipment in the months before embarking on Rota Vicentina. Try to build to walking up to 10k several times a week. Ensure your shoes or boots are comfortable. Remember on the coastal path you will sometimes be walking in sand dunes. This makes the walking a little more arduous.

We can advise individuals and groups on safety. There are many routes on the Rota Vicentina and some of the cliff top walks are quite exposed with precipitous drops. Not the place to be if you suffer from vertigo. Other routes are less challenging and more suitable for the less experienced hikers.
